Denia Castle was built during the town’s Islamic period, between the 11th and 12th centuries, upon Roman remains and with subsequent reforms: the construction of towers in the 15th century, and the rebuilding of the Governor’s Palace between the 16th and 17th centuries. The site constitutes a heritage complex of great interest to visitors.
