MR Hotels » Denia, Alicante
Welcome to Dénia, a city that perfectly reflects the light and joy of the Mediterranean. Overlooking the sea and sheltered at its feet by the imposing massif of the Montgó Natural Park, this jewel of the Costa Blanca offers an unparalleled destination. Here, thousands of years of history, an idyllic climate, exuberant nature, and world-renowned gastronomy intertwine to provide the perfect setting for your next getaway.
Between the Sea and the Mountains
Dénia offers a privilege that few destinations can boast: the perfect union of sea and mountains. We encourage you to explore the hiking trails of the Montgó Natural Park, a rock giant that watches over the coast.
At its feet, the Cape San Antonio Marine Reserve offers a paradise for diving enthusiasts and water sports lovers. It is the ideal environment to connect with nature, whether on foot, by bicycle, or sailing through its protected waters.
Dénia, UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy
Since 2015, Dénia has held the title of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, a recognition of a culinary tradition that brings together the best produce from the sea and the market garden. Flavours that define our essence:
- Dénia red prawn – The emblem of our cuisine
- Traditional rice dishes – From ‘arròs a banda’ to the most creative paellas
- Rockfish and ‘suquet de peix’ (fish stew) that speak of maritime tradition
- Market garden produce such as ‘espencat’ and other Mediterranean delicacies
A Stroll Through 2,000 Years of History
Strolling through Dénia is like travelling back in time. The city has managed to preserve the charm of its old quarters, such as the seaside districts of Baix la Mar and Les Roques, with their cobbled streets and whitewashed houses.
Crowning the city, Dénia Castle stands as a witness to its Iberian and Roman past, and especially its splendour as the capital of the Moorish Taifa in the 11th century. Be sure to visit the Archaeological Museum or the curious Toy Museum, which narrates a vital part of the city’s economic history.
20 kilómetros de playas para cada gusto
The Dénia coastline stretches over 20 kilometres, offering two completely different environments:
- To the north (Les Marines): Here you will find long beaches of fine golden sand. These are shallow beaches with warm, calm waters, perfect for families and equipped with all necessary services.
- To the south (Les Rotes): A landscape of rocky, picturesque, and secluded coves. Its crystal-clear waters and protected seabed make it the ideal spot for diving and snorkelling.
